Tirkey will take hockey to new height, says Odisha CM

Bhubaneswar, Sep 23 (IANS) Praising recently chosen Hockey India (Howdy) president Dilip Tirkey, Odisha Boss Clergyman Naveen Patnaik on Friday said he is certain that the new president, who himself has a renowned lifetime as a hockey player, will take the game higher than ever.

“Praise @DilipTirkey-previous Hockey Group Skipper from #Odisha, on being chosen as the Leader of @TheHockeyIndia. I’m certain, being a renowned player himself from the support of Indian hockey, he will take the game higher than ever. Hope everything works out for him all,” Patnaik said in a tweet.

Odisha Sports and Youth Administrations Secretary R. Vineel Krishna likewise complimented Tirkey on being chosen for the top post in Indian hockey.

Expressing it is a pleased second for Odisha, Krishan said, “Under his administration, I’m certain there will be new energy towards hockey improvement in the country.”
