Philip Michael Thomas is an American actor and musician best known for playing detective Ricardo Tubbs on the hit 1980s television series Miami Vice.

His first significant performances were in Coonskin and Sparkle, a 1976 film starring Irene Cara.
Following his triumph in Miami Vice, he starred in a number of made-for-TV movies and telephone psychic service advertising.

He was a spokesperson for Nextones, a cell phone entertainment provider, and he also played Lance Vance in the computer games Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2002) and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories (2006).
