Lauren Pazienza, a Port Jefferson woman, has been charged with manslaughter after she shoved Barbara Maier Gustern, who died while receiving treatment.

Barbara Joan Maier Gustern was a vocalist and voice teacher from the United States. According to her Wikipedia page, she tutored and mentored prominent vocalists such as Debbie Harry of Blondie, Taylor Mac, Justin Vivian Bond, Diamanda Galas, and Kathleen Hanna.

Furthermore. the press reports reveal that she was hospitalized on March 10 after being shoved from behind while walking, and she sustained a severe head injury as a result of the accident. Police were looking for the offender, Lauren Pazienza, when she died five days later.

Lauren Pazienza, 26 years old from Port Jefferson has been charged with manslaughter, according to New York City Police.

According to accounts, she is the woman responsible for the pushing of Barbara Maier Gustern on March 10 near West 28th Street and 8th Avenue in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighbourhood.

The Fox5reports her to have shoved the 87-year-old from behind, causing her to fall and hit her skull. Pazienza had been missing for almost two weeks, according to police.

They had released updated images of the woman wanted in connection with the March 10 midnight incident. And she was eventually apprehended for the random attack. However, the reason behind it has yet to be established.

Cops had been seeking Pazienza for over two weeks, and late last week they released clear security footage from a subway station in an attempt to identify their culprit.

The NYPD said she brought herself up on Tuesday, escorted by an attorney whose name was not immediately available.

Gustern was just steps away from her house at 8:30 p.m. on March 10 when a woman suspected to be Pazienza attacked her, according to authorities. Before it, no words were exchanged. And the perpetrator simply appeared to walk away after that.

Lauren Paziena has been detained in connection with the death of Babara Maier Gustern. According to NBC News, on March 10, 2022, she was thrown to the ground outside her Chelsea apartment building and sustained a head injury.

Fortunately, she was aware for a short time after the incident and was able to offer information to the authorities. Her health worsened, and she was sent to Bellevue Hospital for surgery.

It was determined at the hospital that she had suffered major brain damage.

She was being treated at the hospital when she died on March 15, five days after the event. She was 87 years old when she died as a result of her injuries.

Has Lauren Pazienza Received Her Jail Sentence?

Lauren Pazienza, 26, is yet to receive her jail sentence as she is now being held in prison in connection with the murder of Gustern, a respected Broadway singing instructor who died on March 15.

She turned herself to the cops with her attorney on Tuesday.

Gustern’s family has yet to respond to her arrest.

It’s unknown whether there’s a link between the two or whether it was a random strike.
