John Ruskin CC, famed as Nardwuar the Human Serviette was born on July 5, 1968, in Vancouver, Canada. He is the son of Vernon and Olga Ruskin.

Nardwuar the Human Serviette attended the Hillside Secondary School in West Vancouver before gaining admission into the University of British Columbia in 1986 where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history.

While at the University, John Ruskin CC changed his name to Nardwuar and started conducting interviews and a stint at the campus radio station called CITR.
