Agra, Oct eleven (IANS) A 45-yr-antique man has been arrested for allegedly duping a Japanese country wide of Rs 23 lakh here, said police on Tuesday.

A case have been registered in opposition to the accused Lapka Ali Hussain underneath phase 420 of IPC, on the Agra Tourist police station in January this year.

“The accused was caught pink-passed on Monday while he was hoodwinking a few different vacationers close to Taj Mahal. He become sent to jail after being produced earlier than the magistrate,” said station residence officer (SHO) Jai Singh Parihar.

According to police, the fifty six-12 months-antique resident of Kyoto in Japan came to India in March 2019. On achieving Agra, she lost the manner to her hotel and stopped to ask for instructions from Hussain, a nearby resident.

The next day Hussain supplied to offer her a town excursion. Later, he became stated to have swindled Rs 23 lakh from her to shop for jewelry which he promised that he would ship back to Japan after finishing all the customs formalities.

Thereafter, she returned to Japan however never received the jewelry.
