Linda Krohn, Lindsey Vonn Mother Illness And “ALS Diagnosis” Explained
Lindsey Vonn had opened up about the health condition of her mother Linda Krohn a few days back. Here is what we know about her illness and recent health condition.
Lindsey Vonn cried as she honored her recent induction into the Olympic Hall of Fame to her mother, Linda Krohn. As she spoke about her mother, she became upset.
Krohn attended the event at the United States Olympic and Paralympic Museum in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Vonn dedicated the achievement to her mother saying she is having her own struggles at the moment.
Followingly, she also added that her mother Linda has taught her a lot about their strength and character and how she overcame her obstacles because of her mom.
Linda Krohn Illness And ALS Diagnosis Explained
Lindsey Vonn’s mother had a stroke while giving birth to her, resulting in mild paralysis in her left leg, causing her to walk with a limp.
Linda has been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or ALS.
ALS is a neurological illness that destroys the nerve cells that regulate the muscles that allow us to eat, breathe, walk, and speak. As of now, there is no cure.
Krohn mentioned seventy-five percent of people die because of the stroke that she went through while giving birth. Meanwhile, while Lindsey was growing up, she couldn’t accompany her daughter while she biked, run, or ski.
According to the ALS Association, most persons develop the condition between the ages of 40 and 70, and the average survival duration is two to five years.
Back in 2010, during one of the interviews, Krohn told The New York Times that her mother wasn’t the audience in the Vonn’s early ski races because she couldn’t walk up the mountain.

Linda Krohn is currently fighting ALS as per her daughter’s post a few days back.
Vonn dedicated a post while discussing her mother’s journey where she mentioned that Linda is now more resilient than she has ever been.
Furthermore, Lindsey went on to talk about how their family and friends have come forward to help and support her. She also mentioned that her mother wanted to share her journey with the people for awareness.
Seeing her mother’s perseverance inspired Vonn as she battled back from a series of painful knee injuries and career disappointments. As the most prolific female ski racer in history, Vonn will be inducted into the 2022 Hall of Fame class.
She is the only American woman to have won Olympic gold in downhill skiing and four World Cup titles.

Lindsey Vonn is the only American woman to have won Olympic downhill gold. In addition, she is also the only American woman to have won four World Cup overall titles.
Lindsey scored her maiden World Cup downhill victory on March 12, 2004, in Lake Louise, Alberta. Vonn, who grew up in the Twin Cities, began skiing at the age of two before enrolling in Erich Sailer’s renowned Buck Hill program.
