Kelis Rogers, known simply as Kelis, is an American singer. At age 14, she was admitted to New York’s Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, where she learned to play the saxophone and won a spot in the Girls Choir of Harlem.

Kelis met rapper Nas at an MTV Video Music Awards party in 2002; they dated for one year before becoming engaged in 2004 and marrying in January 2005. In April 2009, she filed for divorce. In July 2009, Kelis gave birth to her first son, Knight Jones.

Kelis married photographer Mike Mora in 2014, and she gave birth to her second son, Sheperd Mora in November 2015.

Since January 2020, Kelis has been living on a remote farm outside Los Angeles that she manages with her husband when not performing around the world.

Mike Mora died painfully on March 14, 2022. He was 37 years old. He died of gastric adenocarcinoma, in simple terms-stomach cancer stage 4.

Knight Jones

She welcomed her first child, Knight Jones who is 12 years old now in July 2009 with her then-husband Nas.

Sheperd Mora

Kelis had her second child with her late husband, Mike Mora, in December 2015.

When Kelis was pregnant with their son, Shepherd, she kept the news private until she attended the Los Angeles Women’s Expo in October that year.

Kelis has three children in total. Her first son whom she bore with her ex-husband, Nas; Knight Jones.

Aside from Knight, Kelis has two other children with deceased husband, Mike Mora, a son, and a daughter. The son’s name is Shepherd Mora but for the daughter, her name has not yet been revealed.
