Gary Rossington was a songwriter and musician from the United States. Gary Rossington and his wife Dale Krantz Rossington had two daughters. One of his daughters is Mary Elizabeth Rossington. The name of the other daughter is unknown.

Gary Rossington died on 5 March 2023. His death was announced by the band announced on their official Facebook page Sunday evening.

Although no cause of death was given, Gary Rossington had been dealing with health issues for several decades, particularly since the mid-2010s, when heart problems occasionally sidelined Rossington and the band.

Gary Rossington, along with former bandmate Allen Collins, was also a founding member of the Rossington Collins Band.

Until his death in 2023, Rossington still played with Lynyrd Skynyrd. With the deaths of keyboardist Billy Powell (2009) and Larry Junstrom (2019), he was the last surviving original member of the band.

In addition to his wife Krantz-Rossington, Gary Rossington is survived by their two daughters and several grandchildren. No funeral or memorial information has been announced.
