Dr. Bivens’ unexpected demise was reported by Durango Animal Hospital & Pet Hotel on social media through a post that reads:

“Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of Dr. Aaron Bivens. His brilliance was matched only by his kindness and compassion. As a dedicated professional, he was a true advocate for his patients. As we grieve his loss, let us also celebrate the incredible person he was and the positive impact he had on so many lives. Rest in peace, dear friend. Your absence will be felt by many.”

Originally from Riverside, Nevada, Dr. Bivens developed a passion for becoming a veterinarian at the age of six after losing his first childhood feline companion. He pursued his dream to help animals in need and attended Tuskegee University, where he finished his undergraduate studies before graduating from Tuskegee School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. During his time at Vet school, he took a particular interest in Ophthalmology and soft tissue surgery, skills he continued to practice throughout his professional career.

On his days off, Dr. Bivens enjoyed spending time with his two English Bulldogs, Chubbs and Slim. He had a love for BBQ, kayaking, hiking, and escaping to the beach whenever possible.
