David Byrne is a Scottish-American singer, songwriter, record producer, actor, writer, music theorist, visual artist, and filmmaker.

Raised in the United States, he graduated from Lansdowne High School in southwest Baltimore County. While in high school, he began playing instruments and started his first band called Revelation.

While attending Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), he met fellow student Chris Frantz and together they formed Talking Heads in 1975, later joined by bassist Tina Weymouth.

Along with working with producer Brian Eno, Talking Heads had a career spanning three decades, with top charting singles globally, multiple albums certified gold, silver, and platinum, and a prolific multi-media career including videos, film and TV appearances, especially in the concert film “Stop Making Sense.”

David Byrne was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002 as a member of the Talking Heads.
