Danny Javier, a singer-composer, died on Monday, October 31, 2022, after a long illness, his close friends in show business confirmed. He was 75. Javier was a survivor of kidney failure, pneumonia, emphysema, heart failure, hepatitis and sepsis.

His daughter Justine Javier Long confirmed the death on Facebook, according to GMA News.

“In life, as in his death, our Pop never stopped fighting for what he loved, what he believed in and what he was passionate about. He left this world with his passion and his strength of will intact and we know he would not have it any other way,” Justine wrote.

Boboy Garovillo, the only remaining member of the iconic Apo Hiking Society trio, posted a heartfelt message about the death of his friend and colleague.

“Just feeling the loss of an old faithful friend who knew what love is although sometimes it just doesn’t show. My friend lives on in his music,” he said on Facebook.

Condolences poured in from other members of the Organisasyon ng mga Pilipinong Mangaaawit (OPM). The CompanY offered condolences to Javier’s family and to Apo, who it said: “helped build the OPM”.
