As per his LinkedIn, Joe is currently employed in the Central District of California where he primarily handles cases related to unlawful detentions and post-convictions. 

The Federal Defender initially completed his Political Science Degree from St. Mary’s University in 2003. He later got a J.D. in Law from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2006.

Soon after finishing his formal education, Trigilio started working as a staff attorney at Habeas Corpus Resource Center. Starting in 2012, he also got involved at the Loyola Law School Project for the Innocent as a supervising attorney. 

However, Joe’s full-time job has been as a Federal Defense Lawyer in Los Angeles, California. He was been employed in the job since April 2008 and has no plans of quitting anytime soon.
