Why Was Belinda Temple Killed?

Belinda Temple got killed by a single shot to the head, and she was found in the bedroom closet. The medical examiner revealed that she and her unborn child were instantly killed.

On January 11, 1999, the detectives responded to David Temple’s 911 call. He came home and saw a broken backdoor glass. He allegedly took their son to a neighbor’s home and ran back to check on his wife.

David was involved with his colleague, Heather Scott, while he was married to Belinda. They got married less than two years after Belinda’s murder. He got convicted for his wife’s murder, and The prosecutors believe that David got rid of the murder weapon.

Temple was an accomplished athlete who taught aerobics when she was in college. She moved from Nacogdoches to Katy, Texas, after graduation to be with David. She was working at Katy High School as a special education teacher, reports CBS News.

Belinda Temple’s murder suspect and killer, David Temple, got arrested in November 2004. The murder trial began in 2007, and he got convicted after a four-week trial in November 2007.

David’s appellate attorneys got a new hearing in the case in 2015. After a months-long hearing, the judge sided with his defense, and he got a new trial. Temple’s conviction got overturned in November 2016.

Temple walked free after he was released from prison on December 28, 2016. After a retrial, a jury convicted him of the 1999 Belinda Temple murder on August 6, 2019, and he is now facing life in jail.
